Rose Park and Burnside are both suburbs of the City of Burnside — we are the one near the city end, about six kilometres down from the foothills.
Worth being plain about this, because it catches people out. The City of Burnside is a large council covering much of Adelaide's inner east, and it contains both the suburb of Burnside and the suburb of Rose Park. So we are in Burnside in the council sense, and about six kilometres west of Burnside in the suburb sense — out towards the city rather than up towards the hills.
From the suburb of Burnside, the usual run is west along Greenhill Road and then north up Fullarton Road — about ten to fifteen minutes depending on the time of day. Portrush Road then Kensington Road works equally well and is often quicker in the afternoon peak.
If you have been searching for a psychologist in Burnside and found us, we are the same council, nearer the city, with easier parking than most of the foothills practices.
We are at Unit 12, The Parks, 154 Fullarton Road, Rose Park SA 5067 — Unit 12, The Parks, on the corner of Fullarton Road and Alexandra Avenue. There is two-hour free street parking on Alexandra Avenue and Grant Avenue, immediately beside the building, and the parklands are a short walk away if you would rather arrive early and sit somewhere quiet first.
The consulting suites are on the first floor, up one flight of stairs. There is no lift. If a flight of stairs is not manageable for you, a Zoom or telephone appointment is likely to suit you better — every practitioner here offers both, and the Medicare rebate is the same.
You will get written directions by email and text before your appointment, so you are not relying on this page on the day.
Greenhill Road and Portrush Road are the main corridors from this direction. The Adelaide Metro journey planner will work out the connection if you enter 154 Fullarton Road, Rose Park; from the foothills it is usually a drive.
Everyone who practises at OneBodyMind runs their own independent practice. They are registered psychologists and accredited mental health social workers, they work from therapies that have been tested, and they set their own hours and fees. You choose the practitioner rather than being allocated one.
Read the practitioner profiles and start with whoever you would find it easiest to begin with. If the first person is not the right fit, that is ordinary rather than a failure — say so and ask to be pointed elsewhere.
You can also start from what you are looking for rather than from a name: we set out what we help with and the types of therapy used here in plain language.
A standard consultation is between $260 and $290 before any rebate. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, Medicare covers ten individual sessions a calendar year and most people are between about $130 and $170 out of pocket each time. You do not need a referral to book — it only affects the rebate.
We lodge the Medicare claim for you at the time of the appointment. There is more detail on what a session costs, Medicare and referrals and your first appointment.
